Founded in 2000, the JPO produces a regular series of Symphony Seasons, featuring international and local soloists and conductors. The JPO aims to make classical music accessible and contemporary by incorporating classical and South African music genres and welcoming

international and South African performers. The JPO is also involved with fostering the next generation of classical stars, with its educational initiative The Academy, as well as supporting various youth orchestras and ensembles around Gauteng. The JPO even has the distinct honour of being the orchestra of choice for State functions in Gauteng !

Each season of the JPO attracts both long dedicated classical music enthusiasts, as well as new audiences looking to discover the joys of classical music.
